About

Jeff Carroll, a Toronto native, discovered his passion for boxing after being captivated by the Rocky movies. His journey into the sport deepened as he followed Lennox Lewis through early internet posts and honed his own skills on a heavy bag gifted by his parents at age 12.

Inspired by legendary writers like Norman Mailer, Bert Sugar, and Thomas Hauser, Jeff channels their spirit to celebrate boxing’s past and present. His favorite fighters range from the iconic Four Kings—Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, and Thomas Hearns—to global legends like Muhammad Ali, Oleksandr Usyk, Canelo Álvarez, Terence Crawford, and Naoya Inoue. He also has a soft spot for the sport’s gritty warriors—Arturo Gatti, Micky Ward, Diego Corrales, and José Luis Castillo—as well as Canadian boxing heroes like Nick Fantauzzi, Moe Zawadi, Amanda Galle, and Ryan Rozicki.

An undefeated amateur boxer himself, Jeff now lives in Toronto with his wife and two children, where he continues to write and celebrate the sweet science that shaped his life.
